The "eye" of the Crocodile Island in Dasol, Pangasinan

Crocodile Island in Dasol, Pangasinan was so named because the island itself looks like a crocodile, with the hole near the end of the island as its eyes. There were also legends that crocodiles once lived the area, but with time, they vanished because food was scarce. Now, Crocodile Island near Tambobong Beach in Dasol, Pangasinan became one of the tourist destinations in the said place, together with Balinmanok Cove, Culebra/Collibra Island, a cave and a shipwreck. As there are other islands in Dasol, Pangasinan, this island features naturally carve rock formations, with the hole of the islands as its mainstream.

Rocky, rockier, rockiest. Those are islands of Dasol, Pangasinan

The Crocodile Island
So our first destination was the Crocodile Island. Crocodile Island was like 5-10 minutes from the shores of Tambobong Beach in Dasol, Pangasinan. We managed to get nearer to the Crocodile Island but we did not land on it because it might devour us (not really). Crocodile Island is more of an island of rocks and rock formation, and to our surprise, we saw its eyes looking at us. Just near the island were crystal clear waters, probably deep enough that you might not want to dive in it. Trees were scarce on the island and it’s totally different to the ones found in Hundred Islands in Alaminos, Pangasinan. If I will describe the islands found in Dasol, they were just “rocks and rocks” at the bottom and top. Some parts were covered with grasses but that’s not enough to protect you from the scorching heat of the sun!

Looks like the crocodile out of the Crocodile Island is sleepy.

Anyway, Crocodile Island does not have any white sand beach where we can stay at, so we decided to move on with our trip and headed to Culebra (or Collibra) Island. Crocodile Island is a side dish to what our eyes can actually eat--a preview of the island hopping tour.

Crocodile Island is around 5-10 minutes from the star of the different tourist destinations in Dasol, Pangasinan—the Culebra Island. Since the crocodile out of the Crocodile Island was sleepy that time, we did not disturb its unspoiled beauty; instead we went to Culebra Island where the finest and whitest sand beach in Dasol, Pangasinan was found.

Crush the rocks and you'll have the fine sands you're looking for in a white sand beach.
