One of the best Pangasinan beaches is Collibra Island near Tambobong Beach in Dasol. |
How to go to Tambobong Beach from Manila:
- Ride a bus bound to Sta. Cruz, Zambales that passes through Alaminos, Pangasinan. Drop at Burgos Public Market (5-6 hours).
- Ride a bus bound to Alaminos, Anda or Bolinao. Drop at Alaminos (4-5 hours). In Alaminos, ride a bus bound to Sta. Cruz and drop at Burgos Public Market (less than an hour).
- Ride a bus bound to Dagupan (4 hours). In Dagupan, ride a bus bound to Sta. Cruz, Zambales and drop at Burgos Public Market (almost 2 hours).
To go to Tambobong Beach:
- Hire a trike and tell the driver to bring you to Tambobong Beach (1 hour). Look for them near the acacia tree. Expect a bumpy ride. SEE PHOTOS OF OUTSKIRT ROAD GOING TO TAMBOBONG HERE.
- Jeepney is available but only goes to Tambobong at 5:00 in the morning. Hit it or miss it.

To go to Collibra Island/Balinmanok Cove/Crocodile Island:
- Hire a boat and tell the boatman to tour you to the different Dasol tourist spots. It must include Crocodile Island, Balinmanok Cove, a cave, a shipwreck (for snorkeling) and Collibra Island. The first destination should be the Crocodile Island. I recommend Collibra Island as the last destination, probably afternoon.
On going back from Tambobong Beach to Burgos:
- You MUST get the phone number of the trike driver you hired when you went from Burgos to Tambobong. Call him up at least an hour before your desired departure because Burgos to Tambobong is one hour away. Drop at Burgos Public Market.
- In Burgos, you can wait a bus that goes directly to Manila BUT it was scarce. I advise to rather take other suggestions on going back.
- You can ride a bus that goes to either Alaminos or Dagupan. Drop at Alaminos and ride a bus bound to Pasay or Cubao.
- Another alternative is to ride a jeepney that comes from Infanta and heads to Alaminos. Drop at Alaminos (Nepo Mall), walk a bit to either Victory Liner or Five Star Bus and ride a bus bound to Pasay or Cubao.
NOTE: You MUST drop at Burgos Public Market and not in Dasol town. Simple logic there is that, Dasol is farther than Burgos, and it will make your fare a bit more expensive. And it is still the same one hour from either Dasol or Burgos to Tambobong Beach.
How to go to Tambobong Beach from Baguio:
- Ride a bus/van bound to Dagupan (2-3 hours). Drop at Dagupan terminal and ride a bus bound to Sta. Cruz, Zambales and drop at Burgos Public Market (2 hours).
To go to Tambobong Beach:

To go to Dasol tourist attractions:

On going back from Tambobong Beach to Burgos:
SEE SUGGESTIONS UNDER MANILA.
- In Alaminos, you can ride a van that goes to Baguio. Better yet, ride a bus bound to Dagupan and ride a bus bound to Baguio. Just remember that last trip of Victory Liner bus from Dagupan to Baguio is at 9 PM. In case you miss it, go to Pines Garage and ride a van. Last trip at around 10 PM. Be sure to arrive in Dagupan before 10 PM.

*student fare is 20% less than regular fare. Fare as of March 2012. It might have increased by now.
**Regular fixed rate for a trike is P300.00 but you can haggle it down to P250.00. Maximum capacity of a trike is 4 pax especially when you have a lot of baggage. We were 5 when we went to Tambobong, thus we hired two trikes for P300 each (total of P600). P600 divided by 5 equals P120 each person.
***You can get a bigger discount when you go to Nanay Benilda’s homestay. She can offer you 2 rooms (aircon) for just P1000 good for 5 pax.
^Bigger boats are available. Rent for the boat is at P800 for a small one. You can still haggle this down.
I suggest you to bring your own food (pack lunch and dinner).

ReplyDeleteNo problem!
DeleteAwesome Travel guide. Thanks for sharing. We were planning to visit Dasol by the 2nd week of May this year. We're from baguio by the way. And I want to ask you how much would it cost to rent a kubo at the tambobong beach for a night. Thanks. And, sorry for the bother but I'll be glad if you could answer my question :)
ReplyDeleteWhen we went there, the kubo was priced @ P1200 and we find that expensive. I think were overpriced. Anyway, try to haggle down to P600 because we heard it was really P600.
DeleteCan we use our tent?
