Session Road is the most popular street in the city of Baguio. This is where the central business district is located, right at the heart of Session Road. From a hilly part of the mountains people carved Session Road, constructed the Baguio Cathedral and what follows is history of development and economic activities. Now, Session Road is a one-stop shopping and dining destination for both locals and tourists. It lines up some of the best Baguio restaurants, series of banks, convenience stores and thrift stores.

Session Road derives its name from the fact that it used to lead up to the old Baden-Powell Hall, where the first Philippine Commission held its sessions from April 22 to June 11, 1904 and officially initiated the use of Baguio as the Philippine Summer Capital. The Commission was composed of Governor General Luke E. Wright, president, and Commissioners Henry Ide, Den C. Worcester, T. Padre Tavera, Benito Legarda, Jose de Luzuriaga, James Smith and William Cameron Forbes. A marker by what is now Baden-Powell Inn, right beside the enormous bus terminals on Governor Pack Road, stand as the only visible evidence that anything of historical significance ever took place on Session Road. After visiting the Baguio Cathedral we proceeded to walk the length of Session Road. From upper Session Road we went down to lower Session Road (and went to the jeep terminal bound to Mines View Park).

Session Road is a series of different and unique Baguio restaurants from the popular fast-food restaurants (Jollibee, McDonald’s, KFC, Chow King), restaurants that serve Asian cuisine (Ocha), restaurants that serve fine Filipino food (Solibao), restaurants that serve burgers and burritos (Army Navy), ice cream and bake shop (Session Delights) to restaurants that serve unique food (Oh My Gulay). Anyway, I recommend Kubong Sawali for you.

Session Road is also an ukay-ukay center where you can buy class A products (or imitations of branded products). There are also bars and some have live bands (Bohemian, Rumours, Faces). Coffee shops are also found here (Star Café, Luisa’s Café, Starbucks Coffee). The other establishments are for you to discover.

Session Road is just one part of the many roads in Baguio that offer different Baguio restaurants. If you are craving for more choices, you can go to Camp John Hay or SM City Baguio.

Anyway, if you are looking for a Baguio restaurant where you will enjoy your meal, I recommend Kubong Sawali. :)
