Culebra (Collibra) Island: Dasol Secret Hideaway

Collibra or Culebra Island is what you are looking for in Dasol, Pangasinan. White sand beach plus rock formations equals paradise.

Culebra Island, or Collibra Island is an island paradise about 15-20 minutes by boat from the shores of Tambobong Beach in Dasol, Pangasinan. This island in Dasol boasts off its fine white sand beach and a total half of mysteriously formed rock formations. Its white sands were derived from the crushed rocks from the rock formations, and travelers will be able to understand this phenomenon once they get there. Another distinct property of Culebra or Collibra Island is that it has only four tall coconut trees and the rest are rocks and grasses. Tourists are advised therefore to bring umbrella and sun block if they plan to stay long in the island.

The "eye" of the Crocodile Island in Dasol, Pangasinan

Just last Saturday, May, 19, 2012 at the UB Square Hall inside the University of Baguio, the First Baguio Blog Conference was held. With nothing to brag but with the urge to pursue this dream, the event was a success--at least for a day. The event did impart knowledge (about blogging) to the youth (and middle-aged group) who attended the event.

Dasol, Pangasinan: Another Island Hopping Story

Crocodile Island in Dasol, Pangasinan
The first time I did island hopping was back when we visited Hundred Islands National Park in Alaminos City, Pangasinan. After that, island hopping was already on my list of most wanted activities to do. And I never imagined that the next island hopping adventure was going to happen again in Pangasinan, now at a town in its western side, almost adjacent to the province of Zambales.

Dasol Hideaway: Things to Know Before You Go

Pangasinan never fails in terms of its different tourist spots, the off-the-beaten paths, particularly its beaches. If you are planning on a weekend beach getaway, Pangasinan must be an alternative if not main in your list. And believe it or not, most of its beautiful beaches are all found in the western side of the province. You might have already heard about Bolinao (or you might have visited it several times already) and its golden beach of Patar. Yes, that beach in Bolinao is really awesome. But have you already heard of Culebra Island (or Collibra Island as other people say it) in Dasol and saw its white sand beach? If not, you might as well consider this in your next trip. It is a GOOD competitor to what Patar Beach in Bolinao can offer.
